Cruelty Free

What is Go Cruelty Free all about?

Many people are unaware that hundreds of thousands of animals across the world still endure painful experiments to test cosmetics, toiletries, household products and their ingredients. We aim to drive animal testing out of the cosmetics and household products industries altogether.

GreenPalm and the RSPO

By making or selling products which are covered by the GreenPalm programme food manufacturers and retailers can reward palm producers for working in a sustainable and responsible way, and tell their customers that they have done so.

Better managed plantations and oil palm smallholdings serve as models of sustainable agriculture, in terms of economic performance as well as social and environmental responsibility.

Our suppliers of PREP Greenpalm, AAK, are founder members of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil. It developed the idea for GreenPalm.

Paraben Free

Have you ever heard of a substance called paraben? It’s really no surprise if you have not. Rarely do you bother to look into the labels of cosmetics before making a purchase. Had you read the labels however, you would have come across this chemical which is one of the chief ingredients of most of the cosmetics you use. Does knowing about paraben free products make any difference at all? Yes, it does. Products containing paraben can lead to several problems of your skin, hair and body. The more the concentration of paraben, the more acute is the consequence.

Mild irregularities like skin and hair irritation, to severe ailments like neurological disorders, endocrine disruptions, autism and even Breast Cancer have been reported as an aftermath of excessive paraben intake or exposure. Paraben free products on the other hand have shown vastly different effects on the human body, leading us to believe that the chemical is certainly not as safe as it is made out to be. It is also known to react with UV rays, which leads to skin ageing and weakening of your DNA structure. Methyl paraben is also reported to decompose under suitable conditions to form methanol, a potentially toxic element.

Sodium Laureth Sulfate

The World of Ugly Cosmetics

A glowing skin, thick, lustrous hair and a spotless visage is what everyone pines for today. The yearning is so acute, that the most important aspect of cosmetic products –safety, is usually overlooked. How many times do you pause to read the labels before you buy a cosmetic product? If you actually do so, you will find that most of these glorified cosmetics contain substances which are best avoided. Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) is one such toxic surfactant contained in cosmetic products like soaps, shampoos, shaving creams. This substance induces lather in these products of daily use, but you may not know that it is actually harming you.

The obsession for cosmetic products and your unwavering faith in them has blinded you from the hazards that some of these products evince. Are you aware that a soap, which is supposed to clean your skin, can cause skin erosion, irritation, hair follicle damage, affect eyesight and even cause skin cancer? Statistically speaking, presence of Sodium Laureth Sulfate in the concentration of 0.5 % can cause mild irritation, and concentration of 10-30 % can cause severe irritation and possible skin corrosion.
